Why this matters
Worth knowing while you compare: there is currently no federal rule requiring a subscription to be as easy to cancel as it was to start. The FTC's click-to-cancel rule was struck down by the Eighth Circuit on 8 July 2025 in Custom Communications v. FTC, on procedural grounds, days before it was due to take effect. The FTC began a fresh rulemaking in January 2026, and state auto-renewal laws still apply. None of that affects a pass that does not renew, which is the reason for mentioning it.
