Tailoring with nothing made up

Every draft is checked against your resume after it is written: a number, an employer or a skill you never gave is flagged. This video shows the check on a tailored bullet. Cover letters and application answers use it now, and resume tailoring is being rebuilt around it.

A tailored bullet adds a number the sample resume does not have, the number is flagged, and the original wording is kept.

Scene by scene

What the video shows

0:12 long, with captions and no sound. Every person and employer in it is invented.

  1. “Tailored to the job description”

A bullet from a sample resume is rewritten for a senior data analyst job.

  2. “A number that is not in your resume is flagged”

The rewrite added a percentage the resume never mentioned, and that number is marked.

  3. “We kept your original wording here”

The bullet goes back to the original wording, with a note saying why and suggesting the real figure be added by hand if there is one.

About it

What this part of ResumeVera does

In a cover letter or an application answer, nothing is deleted for you: a number or name you never wrote is marked, and you keep it only if it is true. In a tailored resume, job titles, employers and dates stay exactly as you wrote them.

A tailored resume is only useful if you can defend every line of it in an interview. So the rewrite can reword, reorder and emphasise what you already did, but a new number, a new tool or a new employer has to come from you.

Resume tailoring is being rebuilt and is not open yet. Cover letters and application answers are open now and use the same check.
